EXCELLENT Based on 6 reviews Lucía G2025-10-09Verified Amazing gorilla trekking trip with John! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ John was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He picked us up at the Kigali airport the day before our trip, handled all the logistics, and was super flexible with any stops we wanted to make in Kigali and along the way. We planned the trip on very short notice, and John was extremely responsive, reliable, and easy to trust right from the start. Everything was really smooth, well planned, and affordable. The drive to Uganda was beautiful, and John made sure we were comfortable the whole time — great car (lots of power for those steep hills!), good meal stops, and always making sure we took our time. He’s such a kind and pleasant person to be around — never intrusive, always thoughtful, and clearly passionate about what he does.We stayed at Kaara Lodge, which was stunning, and the gorilla trekking itself was just magical — a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The park sits right at the border of Uganda, Rwanda, and the DRC, which made it feel even more special. What we loved most is that John is part of a wonderful community-based organization (CBO) that supports local communities, promotes ethical tourism, and reinvests in social causes. It really felt good knowing our trip contributed to the Ugandan economy and local livelihoods.Couldn’t recommend John more — great company, a great driver, and someone who truly cares about his guests and his community. Floris S2025-09-21Verified Perfectly Planned Safari — Unforgettable! Peter of Wildlife Explorers Africa(u) planned the best safari. Everything ran smoothly—from permits and transfers to superb lodge choices—so I could focus on the magic: gorilla tracking in the Bwindi Heritage Site, thrilling game drives that delivered tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and a leopard in Queen Elizabeth National Park, a thoughtful and respectful Batwa Experience, and delightful golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga. Peter’s communication was clear and timely, and his guiding team was knowledgeable, safe, and passionate. I’ve added a few photos to give a taste of what we saw, and I’m happy to share more if needed. I wholeheartedly recommend traveling to Africa with Wildlife Explorers Africa(u) for a truly lifetime experience.

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park is an incredible adventure! With its rich biodiversity and large chimpanzee population, it’s no wonder it’s a top destination for primate enthusiasts. Kibale National Park is home to 13 primate species, making it a prime location for chimpanzee trekking thus being dubbed as primate capital of Africa. The park has four chimpanzee communities, with the Kanyanchu area being the most popular for trekking. To minimize disturbances, trekking is done in two shifts—morning and afternoon—with small groups of six individuals. Besides chimpanzees, you’ll encounter various bird species, butterflies, and other mammals, enriching your trekking experience. It is a memorable experience, especially if you visit during the low season for better photography opportunities.
