Itinerary Overview:

At 4:30 AM – Departure from Kigali Begin your day with an early morning drive from Kigali, heading north through Rwanda’s scenic countryside toward Volcanoes National Park. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills and misty valleys.

At 7:00 AM – Arrival & Briefing at Volcanoes National Park Headquarters, Arrive at the park’s information Centre in Kinigi for registration and a detailed briefing by park rangers. You will be assigned to a specific gorilla family and receive guidance on trekking etiquette and safety.

8:00 AM – Gorilla Trekking Begins Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trek through the lush rainforest in search of the rare and majestic mountain gorillas. The trek can range from 1 to 4 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.

Only 1 Hour with the Gorillas Once you locate the gorillas, spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat—watching them feed, play, and interact. It’s a humbling and unforgettable wildlife encounter.
