Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Goma

Meet your guide at Kigali Airport or hotel

Enjoy a Kigali city tour, including: Local markets, Kigali Genocide Memorial

Drive to the Goma border (approx. 3–4 hours). Collect your Nyiragongo hiking permits. Cross into the DRC and transfer to Hotel Ihusi for overnight stay

Day 2: Nyiragongo Volcano Hike

Early breakfast at the hotel, Transfer to Kibati Ranger Post, the hike’s starting point, hire porters to assist with gear

Begin the ascent to Nyiragongo’s summit (approx. 5–6 hours), Reach summit shelters and witness the lava lake glowing at night

Overnight at the summit in basic mountain huts

Day 3: Descent & Return to Kigali

Wake up to sunrise over the crater, Light breakfast/snack at the summit

Begin descent back to Kibati Ranger Post. Meet your guide and transfer back to Kigali

Optional boat cruise on Lake Kivu (self-arranged) en route
