Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Genocide memorial visits plus Cultural Encounter
On arrival Rwanda, When Time permitting, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a powerful historical experience. Located in Gisozi, just outside central Kigali, it serves as the final resting place for over 250,000 victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi the memorial offers a deeply reflective experience through its exhibitions, gardens, and educational programs, promoting peace and reconciliation.
After transfer to Volcanoes National Park to Visit the Gorilla guardian former Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to engage with local traditions, music, and dance. It was founded by former poachers who turned conservationists, offering visitors a chance to experience authentic Rwandan culture while supporting local livelihoods. By doing this activity you’re supporting and empowering the reformed poachers, this promotes conservation of mountain gorillas.

Day 2: Golden Monkeys & Cross into Uganda
Start with early morning briefing before you start trek for Golden Monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park. Treks begin around 7:00 AM from the Kinigi Park Headquarters. Small groups of up to 8 people are allocated to a troop to ensure an intimate wildlife encounter. The trek can last from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on monkey movement.
Two main groups, each with 80+ members, live in bamboo forests at the base of the volcanoes. Once found, you’ll spend 1 hour observing their playful antics—leaping, chirping, and sometimes landing on your head (yes, really).
Later after the activities drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Chanika border. Check in and relax at your lodge.
Overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Optional Batwa Cultural Experience
Early morning after UWA briefing head into the forest for Mountain Gorilla tracking—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
We shall have an Optional afternoon activity-Visit a nearby village for the Batwa cultural experience, learning about the forest’s original inhabitants.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will have a Scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot the big four animals that rules in savannah.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s crown jewels—a sprawling, biodiverse haven nestled between Lake Edward and Lake George in the western part of the country. It spans over 1,978 km² and offers a stunning mix of savannah, wetlands, crater lakes, and tropical forests
You will embark and enjoy a sunset boat cruise at Kazinga Channel: A highlight of any visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park—this natural waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and offers sunset boat cruises with views of hippos, crocodiles, and elephants.

Day 5: Chimpanzees in Kalinzu Forest & Return to Kigali
You will start with early morning Drive to Kalinzu Forest for Chimpanzee tracking.
Kalinzu Forest Reserve is a lush, biodiverse gem tucked into western Uganda near Queen Elizabeth National Park. It’s especially famous for its chimpanzee tracking, offering one of the most affordable and rewarding primate experiences in the country. Home to over 300 individuals, with around 40 habituated for tourism, diverse primates with chances to Spot blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and baboons. A birding Paradise Over 378 bird species, including the Great Blue Turaco and sunbirds
Immediately after this activity you will begin your journey back to Kigali, Rwanda.
