Meet John: Your Guide to the Wild Heart of Kisoro

My name is John, a proud Ugandan born and raised in Kisoro District, nestled in the breathtaking southwestern corner of Uganda. I am a professional tour guide, and my journey into this field is deeply rooted in my upbringing.

Growing up near the boundaries of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, I developed a profound love for nature and wildlife. Watching tourists visit my village sparked a dream—to one day become a guide who could share the wonders of my homeland with the world.

I began my journey as a porter in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, assisting visitors during activities like hiking, gorilla tracking, and golden monkey tracking. While pursuing my studies, I transitioned into a community guide, leading cultural and nature tours around the park and showcasing the rich heritage of Kisoro.

After completing my education, I fully embraced my calling as a safari guide—a role I am deeply passionate about and proud to perform. Today, I specialize in creating unforgettable experiences for travelers, blending adventure, conservation, and local insight.
