Day 1: July 9 – Arrival & Kigali City Highlights

Arrival time 10:10 AM at Kigali International Airport

You will be accommodated at Chez Lando Hotel (1 double room)

Have an afternoon hotel check-in and refresh after you will have guided city sightseeing tour to explore Kigali’s vibrant neighborhoods, art galleries, and local cafés. Have an Evening Optional dinner at Heaven Restaurant or Repub Lounge for a taste of Rwandan fusion cuisine

Day 2: July 10 – Memorial Reflection & Scenic Journey to Bwindi

Kigali Genocide Memorial. Begin the day with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a deeply moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide. Explore exhibits that chronicle Rwanda’s history, resilience, and healing. Take time for quiet reflection in the memorial gardens.

Later in the midday- Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Depart Kigali for a scenic cross-border journey into southwestern Uganda. Enjoy panoramic views of rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural villages. Complete border formalities and continue toward Bwindi.

Evening: Forest Retreat at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge. Arrive at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge, nestled near the Rushaga sector of Bwindi. Check into your double room and unwind with views of the lush forest canopy. Optional: Enjoy a warm Ugandan dinner and listen to the sounds of the jungle as night falls.

Day 3: July 11 – Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Immersion

Early Morning Gorilla Trekking in Rushaga. Rise early for a thrilling adventure into the misty depths of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Join expert trackers to locate and observe a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Trek duration varies (2–6 hours), depending on the gorillas’ location. Witness intimate behaviors—playful juveniles, nurturing mothers, and the commanding silverback.

Batwa Community Visit After lunch, visit the nearby Batwa village for a cultural exchange. Learn about the Batwa’s ancestral connection to the forest, their music, dance, and survival techniques.

Engage in storytelling, traditional crafts, and perhaps even join a dance circle.

Have a Fireside Dinner & Storytelling

Return to Ichumbi Lodge for a warm shower and a well-earned rest.

Enjoy a cozy dinner featuring local flavors and fresh ingredients. Wind down with fireside storytelling—tales of the forest, wildlife, and Batwa legends. 

✈️ Day 4: July 12 – Return to Kigali & Departure for Nairobi

Early Morning Farewell to Bwindi, enjoy a final breakfast at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge, surrounded by the tranquil forest canopy. Check out and begin your scenic drive back to Kigali, retracing the lush landscapes and rural charm of southwestern Uganda.

Afternoon: Arrival in Kigali with time to relax or enjoy a light meal before your flight.

Optional: Stop at a local craft market for last-minute souvenirs or a café for a farewell coffee.

Evening-Departure to Nairobi

Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your evening flight.

Bid farewell to Rwanda and Uganda as you head onward to Nairobi, carrying unforgettable memories of gorilla encounters and cultural discoveries.
