Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Departure from Kigali 5:00 am  

Begin your journey with an early morning transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park. The drive offers scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hr

Upon arrival, check in at the park headquarters and prepare for a day immersed in nature and wildlife.

Enjoy the Sunrise Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema which starts at 8:30 am, Embark on a tranquil 2-hour boat cruise across Lake Ihema. Witness the golden hues of sunrise reflecting off the water while spotting hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds including the elusive shoebill stork and African fish Eagle

Start the Safari Game Drive-10:30 am Continue with a thrilling game drive through Akagera’s diverse landscapes—savannahs, woodlands, and swamps. Keep your eyes ready as we hunt for the Big Five: lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffaloes, along with giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and more.
