Burundi Banana Brewery Experience-brewed by nature, shared by culture—Sip the Spirit of Burundi.

Tucked along our Burundi community trail lies one of the region’s most respected banana brewers—a guardian of a craft that has shaped local life for generations. In Burundi, visitors step into a world where ripe bananas, sorghum or millet, and traditional clay pots come together in a brewing process that is entirely organic and deeply rooted in culture.

Traditionally, people of Burundi gather and celebrate after testing the banana brewery of gin. This is part of tradition for the community members where they dance and celebrate while performing their traditional Intore dances using the karyenda drums. These dances are celebrated within the traditional settlement in family compounds called urugo where people dance to the fullest after getting satisfied with banana beer or gin.

Visitors are invited to witness and join these gatherings, immersing themselves in Burundi’s living heritage. It’s more than a festival—it’s a chance to feel the heartbeat of a community, guided by drums, dance, and the sweetness of banana brew.
